Sara Groban Photo Shoot

Thanks to Sara Groban (talent), and Ayame Coleen of Pendragon Studios (photography) for a fun and hot shoot. It was literally hot here in the desert where we shot on Tuesday. Despite the issues with shooting at mid day in the summer we got some amazing shots. We did two looks. The first look was a smokey eye with a nude lip. The second look was a true red lip. Here are a few of the photos that are finished...

Time To Shine Feature

I have been keeping pretty busy with school this last semester and haven't had time to update but now that the semester has ended here we go. Now I am busy with a movie. We just wrapped the 'hospital/rehab' scenes yesterday and we start some action scenes on Monday. I did basic makeup for the actors and some impromptu scars for two of the actors. One being a fresh shrapnel scar and the other an old and faded scar from previous service in the armed forces.

The CSUSB branch here in Palm Desert, Ca. was amazing. Tina Howe, Freddy and Cary were all so helpful and professional. Our crew and actors were in excellent hands. We felt at home while filming and repaid that with delicate and respectful use of the location. All in all it was a pretty flawless three days.

On Monday we will be in Desert Hot Springs, Ca. to film battle scenes. I can't wait to get started on that new location. I'll update along the way.

Photo Shoot is Done, Awaiting Final Images.

On the 28th our crew hit up several Palm Springs, Ca locations to shoot pics for a new comic. The photographer was Katie Geiberger http://www.facebook.com/katie.geiberger Wardrobe by Erin Carrol. We did a fun fresh look for the mini golf site http://www.boomersparks.com/site/palmsprings/ then a more vintage look for the Ace Hotel Palm Springs site https://www.acehotel.com/palmsprings We took some snaps downtown Palm Springs on beautiful Palm Canyon Drive, along the walk of stars. I think the shoot had really great energy. I can't wait to get the edited pics to post in my gallery.
Silent Film Project And Photo Shoot Coming Up...

For up coming work...

The screen test went well for the short-length feature silent film titled Hell's Bells. Pictures to follow. The looks are Theda Bara & Delores Del Rio inspired. Very excited for this project to get under way in the next few months. Some light FX work in this project as well. I am happy as a clam.

A week from today, I have a tentatively scheduled photo shoot. Not sure on the details yet but I'm excited to do some more print work.

And as for new products...

I recently tried MAC's Greyscale black liner pencil. It's almost as dependable and soft as my favorite MAC black pencil Smolder. Yet Greyscale doesn't smudge or move as much as Smolder has a tendency to do. I will keep Smolder in my kit for high fashion/runway looks, but I will definately use Greyscale for bridal/longer wearing looks.

I also tried a drugstore brand foundation, Rimmel's Clean Finish foundation. So far I wouldn't use it for clients but for everyday wear makeup it has been lasting and giving medium to full coverage. I sheer it to medium with moisturizer because the full effect is a little obvious and has a tendency to look shiny. I have oily skin and I don't need extra shine but if you have dry skin this foundation could have the effect of a dewy skin. I definitely wouldn't write it off especially with a $4 price tag.

One last new product try was the ELF blotting papers. They work well enough for a wonderfull price tag of $1 for 50 sheets, but if you have an oily skin like myself it takes a few more than usual to get the job done. I probably won't get them for my kit but may use them in my purse as a cost efficient back up.

Well, that is all for now. Untill next time I wish you all happiness and makeup zen.
